Job Description

  • Provide individual support to people living with mental illness – 24-hour facility
  • Promote independence, development and confidence in others
  • SCHADS Level 3. Base rate $37.35 - $40.05 p/h plus super, shift loadings and casual loading (25%) 

 
About You
Highly skilled and motivated individual to work alongside a high-performing multidisciplinary team in partnership with Alfred Health’s Mental Health, Addiction and Wellbeing team, to deliver individualised psychosocial orientated recovery care. At South Yarra PARC, you will work with a team of Alfred Mental Health Nurses to provide outstanding mental health care to consumers with complex mental health care needs
Additional attributes we are looking for include:  

  • Prior experience in mental health support or working with those who are disadvantaged in the community
  • Prior experience facilitating group activities, developing recovery goals and creating plans
  • Experience completing intake assessments and exit planning an advantage
  • Demonstrated flexibility, patience, initiative and emotional resilience
  • Capability to advocate for others and build sustainable support networks within the community
  • Availability for a range of shifts including sleepovers

It is a requirement of this position to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, acquire and maintain a positive Working With Children’s Check, an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a current & valid driver’s licence.

About the Role
Work in collaboration with our team of highly skilled Mental Health Workers and Clinical Multidisciplinary Team, including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Peer Workers, Social Workers and Nurses. We pride ourselves on a personalised approach and delivering individualised recovery orientated care. The Mental Health Worker’s goal is to enable rather than do, to promote independence, development and confidence of individuals. Our success will enable them to have the voice and choice to thrive in their local communities
This role entails:

  • Assessments of individuals with a Mental Health Nurse to determine suitability for PARC
  • Deliver evidence-based group content that is curated to the cohort of the ever-changing participant group
  • Develop evidence-based care plans that are strengths-based with a holistic wellness focus 
  • Develop collaborative risk management and mitigation plans 
  • Enhancing and promoting links with natural supports in the community
  • Providing accurate and timely case notes so that colleagues and stakeholders can provide a consistent experience for clients

We take appropriate actions to ensure that our staff and the people we support are as safe as possible. You will be expected to adhere to all OHS standards, requirements and processes, including (but not limited to) wearing appropriate PPE and regular hygiene and cleanliness practices.
